Keventer to acquire 6 dairy firms
New Delhi, 3 December: Food processing firm Keventer Group is planning to expand its dairy business in North India through acquisition and has earmarked about Rs 200 crore to buy about 6 milk processing firms in this region.
The Kolkata-based company in joint venture with the West Bengal government processes about 4 lakh litres of milk per day and sells it under the brand name 'Metro Dairy'.
It is aiming to raise its milk processing capacity by 10 fold to 4 million litres per day, by acquiring milk processing firms.
“We are presently exploring about six acquisitions all in North India to expand our presence at the national level and raise our milk processing capacity to 4 million litres per annum,” Keventer Group chairman and managing director Mr Mayank Jalan told reporters here.
He added that the company is interested to invest specifically in states such as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR region.
